Ibrahim Sowunmi

Impromptu Marrakesh trip with the boys. We saw tickets for 30 euros on Ryanair for a round trip. Four of us booked tickets for a week in November.

Lovely Coincidence

My birthday was on that week as well, so all the more reason to celebrate.

We ended up staying at this lovely little Riyadh in Gueliz. I believe it was called Riyadh Shurkan.

Some placholder text

The plan was to work during the day and then travel in the evening. We also booked a day off at the end of the week for some biking.

The Vibe
Immaculate

The weather was stunning throughout. It didn't rain at all. The city was vibrant, and we had very good times. Although the city was fun, we were there for a week, which is a pretty long period of time. You blitz through all the tourist stuff, and our host was keen to show us around, on our dime, of course. We got to see a bit of the underbelly of the city. The hustle, bustle, and chaotic energy of Marrakesh began to wear us down a little, but it was still very enjoyable.

Atlast Mountains

We decided to take a break from the city and do something different. A friend of ours knew a driver whom we hired for a day or two. He drove us to the Atlas Mountains and several other areas.

He clearly had pre-established relationships with a few fantastic spots, as every place he brought us to was an absolute gem. Arguably, my favorite 24-48 hour period of our entire trip.

It had to be done

Whilst exploring one of the places our host bought us we came across a childs area. It had a trampoline and what's a trip away without a sesh on trampoline???

The city itself had many spots. A treat to explore really.

Driving around was a great way to see a lot of different places really quickly. If I were alone, I suspect I would have balked at the thought of hiring a car, but with company, it was actually pretty enjoyable, and I saw a lot more than I otherwise would have.

Seeing more sights and ripping some fat clouds in the dunes, bro. This was a real Masters of the Universe moment. First big boy job, working remotely abroad with friends, taking a day off to ride the bikes in the desert. Elite feeling. Is this what money tastes like (this holiday left me broke as)?

A few more of the typical tourist sites: the YSL museum, that blue building that's on everyone's socials if they've been to Morocco, etc.

More travelling and some more city sights :) A very fun trip.
